After your ’10-point Check-up’, you receive a FREE consultation where Dr. Pratt will sit down with you after the check-up to review his findings and, if anything needs attention, carefully explain all of your options including priorities, benefits and costs.

10-Point Check-up for New Patients

On your first visit you'll receive a "10-Point Check-up" and consultation with Dr. Pratt. Here's what's covered in the "10-Point Checkup".

1. JAW: Check to see if the jaw joints are working smoothly, without pain, noise or locking.
2. MUSCLES: Check for sore or cramping head & neck muscles.
3. BITE: Test for correct alignment, uneven wearing, receeding gums and cold-
   sensitivity.
4. ORAL CANCER: Observe soft tissues of the mouth for cancer using a special light called a Velscope.
5. LOOSE TEETH: Check for any loose teeth and identify underlying cause before a “loose” tooth becomes a “lost” tooth!
6. CHIPPED & WORN TEETH: Check for chipped and worn teeth and identify why is happening (such as grinding your teeth).
7. FILLINGS: Our check is to see that the edge of each filling meets tight the tooth the enamel holding your fillings has no cracks developing so that cavities don’t start underneath your old fillings.
8. X-RAYS: We’ll only take those x-rays that are absolutely necessary for see what’s going on between your teeth and under your fillings.
9. GUMS: A complete gum check includes pocket measuring, recession scores, tooth mobility, and bleeding scores. More teeth are lost because of gum disease than tooth decay... by a mile!
10. SMILE ANALYSIS: You look older with no teeth, or with dark, worn down teeth, and you look younger with a feel more confident with a beautiful smile. We’ll make suggestions for you on the most cost-effective options for improving your smile.
